“Here at
Chalice Well Gardens, I’ve been
using copper tools for some time, as they fit well into the ethos of this
place. I must say that they are a joy to use. The Castor trowel, which
I’ve had for a few years has rarely left my side! It slides into the soil
easily, and I have proven time and time again its ability to deter slugs
from gobbling up all of my precious plants. Many visitors have commented
when they see me using it, and I have passed them onto the website so
they can get their own.
I had thought I had finally found the ultimate hand
tool until I bought a Pollux hoe. This has now become my favourite hand
tool, and I use it every day. The single spur is great at grubbing out
weeds, and the diamond-shaped blade is good for larger plants, and can
also be used for transplanting. I thoroughly recommend this hand hoe. “
